Just a quick note to say hi.

As Joe wraps up his last assignment of his junior year in High School - a paper studying and contrasting the writings of Melville between Billy Bud and Moby Dick and his connections with the transcendentalist movement of Emerson and his contemporaries, and I wrap up the 500 plus emails in my inbox at work to prepare for 3+ weeks on the road - oh the luxury of youth...

We have found time for a few more test drives, and spent a couple hours under the car and in the engine compartment looking for issues that may cause delays and other headaches along the way.

We posted a question on the Yahoo Group - 1800 Enthusiasts list looking for suggestions for recommendations on parts to stow away for the trip.  Following many good suggestions and recommendations about tuning the SUs for the high elevations of Colorado, it looks like we will be packing a spare fan belt, a good tool set - standard factory tool bag plus... and a set of jumper cables.

I guess we are relying on Murphy's Law - what ever parts we bring will not be the ones we want.  We will reply on ingenuity, and the miracle of the internet and FedX if we find ourselves in need.

Departure is now scheduled for 8:am Friday June 12th.  Not sure where we will end up, but we will pass through Bennington VT for a quick visit with the guys at Hemming's and then continue west.
